After a very slow start, and with a couple of lucky breaks, I achieved 2 university degrees: BSc (Hons) Business and Technology at Coventry University, and MA in International Business Administration at Bournemouth University.

Although I wouldn’t call myself naturally academic, I was determined to do well. This determination saw me become a published author of an academic research paper on greenwashing titled Green Companies or Green Con-panies: Are Companies Really Green, or Are They Pretending to Be? (362 citations on Google Scholar)

I subsequently worked in the corporate world for small, medium, and large-sized companies in various roles, such as office manager, bookkeeper/accounts assistant, financial administrator, researcher for an executive search firm, quality control, market research specialist, and so on.

I also worked in a number of voluntary positions, including Environmental Mentor, Royal Borough of Kingston; Campaigner and Youth Educator, Friends of the Earth; School Speaker, Animal Aid.

I was also General Secretary of the European Vegetarian Union for 8 years and Council Member of the International Vegetarian Union for 4 years. My roles involved international travel meeting with delegates from vegetarian/vegan organisations in Europe and USA.

I currently wear several different hats - Green Lifestyle Consultant and Green Beauty Ambassador, advising people on choosing everyday products that are vegan, cruelty-free, naturally-derived, harsh chemical-free and eco-friendly; Leader of the London Vegan Business Network, supporting over 1.2k vegan businesses, freelancers, start-ups, aspiring entrepreneurs, students and job seekers; Owner of Shabari's Snack Shack, selling vegan sweets and snacks; and Founder of the World Vegan Market, organising and managing an online market for small business owners to promote their vegan products and vegan-friendly services.

So, why did am I doing what I am doing? I chose to do this because I am passionate about veganism, being a long-term vegan of 25 years, and want to spread that passion to others.

Veganism is not just about the food we eat. It’s a holistic ethical lifestyle choice where you eliminate the use of animal products and avoid products that have been subjected to animal testing in every aspect of your life – from what you eat, to what you put on your skin, to what you wear.

I have given talks and presentations in front of various audiences, both online and face-to-face, on topics including the rise of veganism, how to live a chemical-free lifestyle, eco-living, and healthy eating.

I am driven by justice and firmly believe in ethics, transparency, fairness, and the rights of individuals, groups and animals.
